The 2025 MLK Award for Youth Leadership, Creative Maladjustment and Social Change will be presented to Andrea Pauliuc of March on Harrisburg!
Andrea Pauliuc is the Internal Organizer of MarchOnHarrisburg, a nonpartisan and grassroots organization that fights against corruption in Pennsylvania politics through legislative reform. Andrea also organizes for the Pennsylvania Action on Climate (PAC), which brings together smaller climate movements from across PA into one campaign to fight climate change through an anti-corruption lens. Andrea will be joined by a panel of organizers who are part of the Poor People's Campaign.
Nominated by Philadelphia Justice & Equity Fellow Lauren Johnson ‘26, Andrea will receive an award and an honorarium of $1000. From Andrea’s nomination:
“Andrea’s accomplishments and contributions to Pennsylvania make her a shining example of what young people can do when they refuse to stand by an unjust system and decide to act in Dr. King’s legacy of nonviolent, intersectional organizing for justice.”
In 2025, Haverford College is honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a series organized by the Student Diversity, Equity and Access team around the theme “Remembrance, Resistance, and Rejoicing.”
