The Last of the Party People Report for Action
Lucy Frank BMC '25
VCAM Lower Create Space 006
This exhibit celebrates the importance of domestic spaces to Philadelphia's queer community and the lives of those who inhabited these spaces. The subject matter and curatorial practice are inspired by a sect of queer spatial theory that explores the radicality in public disclosures of private realities. It takes place in a mysterious bedroom and invites the audience to gain a better understanding of not just queer histories but of the unique archives at the William Way LGBTQ Center.

VCAM Upper Create Space 206
Based on their name alone, crisis pregnancy centers might seem a perfectly suitable destination for women seeking reproductive care. However, their purpose is often much more disingenuous, and exists solely to prevent women from obtaining abortions. Through my internship with Abortion Access Front, I've highlighted the 20 fake clinics that exist near Haverford and the steps we can take to stop them from misleading more unsuspecting patients.
Durante Sol y Huracán
Estrellita Ramirez Arboleda '27
VCAM Upper Create Space 206
Using one of the creative mediums that has caught her attention and love since she was a child, with the skills she learned through her Creative Fellowship with the animation Studio YGKrow, Estrellita Ramirez Arboleda '27 created the short animation "Durante Sol y Hurcán," portraying the story of an 11-year-old Puerto Rican girl called Sol who, along with her family, face the tribulations that came with the 2017 hurricane Maria. Based on personal experiences from friends, family and the artist, this short animated film is meant to be a small reflection of the natural disaster that struck the island seven years ago, the impact it had then and the impact it still has today.
