Gameday Fords Giving Challenge Sets Records

On February 14 and 15, family, friends, staff, faculty, students, and alumni from across the globe came together to contribute $413,319 to Haverford Athletics during the third annual Gameday Fords giving challenge. This record-breaking total was achieved with the support of a staggering 898 donors, surpassing the initial goal of 600 donors.

All 23 of Haverford's varsity sports received substantial contributions, with gifts pouring in from 43 different states and six countries. The impact of these 898 donors was further magnified by various matching challenges presented by alumni and friends of the College.

The softball program notably exceeded its donor goal, doubling the target of 41 donors and reaching an impressive 83 donors, securing the top spot on the leaderboard. The rankings were calculated based on the percentage of each team's donor goal achieved.

The generosity of these gifts enhances the experience of our scholar-athletes as they develop teamwork and leadership skills both in and out of the classroom. Athletics play a central role in campus life, and each donor is a vital part of the community that fosters the intellectual, physical, and personal development of our students.
