All members of the Staff Association, including exempt and non-exempt staff in all employment divisions, are eligible to serve as Staff Representatives. And as a non-Senior Staff member of Haverford College, you are automatically a member of the Staff Association!
Nominations and self-nominations are being accepted until Wednesday, January 17th:
- Submit a nomination for the Implementation Committee and/or Wellness Task Force
- Nominate yourself for the Implementation Committee and/or Wellness Task Force
Details about the committees are below. Please contact dciotti [at] haverford.edu (Dru Ciotti), SAEC Vice Chair, with any questions. Thank you!
Implementation Committee
Opening: 2 staff representatives
Appointment: 2 years
Two members of the Staff Association are appointed to serve a two-year term as the staff representatives to the Implementation Committee, which is convened by the Senior Staff of Haverford College. Led by Implementation Committee 2030 (IC2030), teams made up of faculty, students, and staff are working on design, scope, and realization across 14 crucial areas. This is a collaboration with faculty, staff, students, alums, and friends. The committee will convene monthly or less for 1-2 hours, starting in January 2024. Meetings will most likely be in person, with joining remotely a possibility.
Wellness Committee
Opening: 1 staff representative
Appointment: 2 years
One member of the Staff Association is appointed to serve a two-year term as the staff representative to the Wellness Task Force, which is convened by the Director of Benefits Administration. The Task Force is charged with oversight of wellness and wellbeing related planning, goals, initiatives, and campaigns at Haverford College. Meetings will be once per month and preferably in person, although joining remotely may be an option.
The Staff Association Executive Committee (SAEC) strives for diverse and proportional staff representation on the SAEC and other College committees by identifying and electing and/or appointing Staff Representatives from across all College divisions and employment classifications. If you don't feel well-represented, please consider volunteering! We are invested in ensuring participation is accessible for all staff, so if you are concerned that your service would be an undue burden for you or your department, please contact an SAEC member to discuss ways to make the opportunity feasible.
