On Sunday, December 10 at 3 PM, the Haverford-Bryn Mawr Chorale, conducted by visiting professor Dr. Scott AuCoin, will perform their Fall Concert.
On Sunday, December 10 at 3 PM, the Haverford-Bryn Mawr Chorale, conducted by visiting professor Dr. Scott AuCoin, will perform their FALL CONCERT, joined tenor soloist George Johnson III.
Program:
- J.S. Bach: Cantata 61 Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland
- Adolphus Hailstork: I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes
- Felix Mendelssohn: Psalm 42: Wie der Hirsch schreit, Op. 42

About the soloist:
George Johnson, III, a native of Hampton, Virginia, has been said to command the attention of audiences with his natural lyrical expressiveness, and talent for bringing words to life on stage. Recent operatic engagements include Amadou, Renty, and Omar (Cover) in the workshop, world premiere, and North Carolina premiere of Rhiannon Giddens and Michael Abels Pulitzer Prize winning opera Omar, Don Pelagio in Haydn’s La Canterina at Festival of Italian Opera and as Lucano in L’incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi. On the concert stage, he has appeared as a featured soloist in Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s The Passion, Vaughan-Williams' Serenade to Music, and R. Nathaniel Dett’s Chariot Jubilee. He holds degrees from Hampton University and Westminster Choir College of Rider University.
