Haverford/Bryn Mawr College piano students win first place awards at the Triumph Music Festival!

Three piano students - Steven Pei (HC), Shoki Kawasaki (HC), and Eliza Ellis (BMC) - won first place awards at the Triumph Music Festival this past weekend in Paoli, PA. They all study with Haverford's affiliate artist Anna Kislitsyna.
Steven Pei (HC), Shoki Kawasaki (HC), and Eliza Ellis (BMC) performed at the Triumph Music Festival this past weekend in Paoli, PA, sharing the stage with internationally acclaimed concert artists along with cellist Gloria dePasquale of the Philadelphia Orchestra. They all study the piano with Anna Kislitsyna, affiliate artist at Haverford College.
Steven and Eliza received first prize in the solo category. Steven played sonatas by Scarlatti and CPE Bach, and Eliza performed Habanera by Debussy.
Shoki competed in the concerto category and received first prize performing Concerto No. 2 by Shostakovich. He is also a finalist at IPPA Conero International Music Festival in Connecticut where he will perform Schumann’s Papillons Op. 2 at the end of the month.
