STAFF REPRESENTATION
The Staff Association Executive Committee (SAEC) is responsible for identifying and appointing staff representatives to serve on standing and ad hoc College committees. The SAEC strives for diverse and proportional representation of staff perspectives on College committees and working groups by seeking out and recruiting volunteers for staff representative roles from across divisions and employment classifications. Haverford's Senior Staff join the SAEC in their support for service to the College by any member of the Staff Association in any division or job category. Staff time spent in committee service is considered part of the staff representative’s workload during their appointment, and could entail rebalancing of job assignments if necessary.
PROCESS
The Vice Chair of the SAEC is responsible for coordinating the announcement of opportunities and assembles candidate pools. The Vice Chair also coordinates elections for certain roles and the process through which the SAEC comes to consensus on other appointments. The Vice Chair acts in an ex officio capacity in the determination of appointees. For your reference, the Staff Association Bylaws are available here (Haverford login required)
