Learn about alliances among Irish and South Asian members of the Philadelphia Community in the early 1900s, as they collaborated to resist the British Empire. Following an introduction from Siobhán Lyons, a former Irish Diplomat and President of Philadelphia's Citizen Diplomacy International, we'll hear from Ameena Ghaffar-Kucher, Senior Lecturer at Penn GSE, as well as Imran Siddiquee, a filmmaker, writer, speaker, and activist who collaborates with the South Asian American Digital Archive (SAADA). Ghaffar-Kucher and Siddiquee will share the story and opportunities behind "Revolution Remix," SAADA's walking and sound tour of historic Philadelphia through the lens of South Asian American history. The tour is accompanied by a comprehensive set of lesson plans developed with the support of the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage. 

This event is made possible through cooperation among the presenting individuals and organizations, the PA Council for International Education, and the Community-based Global Learning Collaborative housed in the Haverford College Center for Peace and Global Citizenship.
