Parent Giving

Parent Annual Giving supports the complete Haverford experience, by enriching academics, creating opportunities for student-faculty research, providing for increased student co-curricular activities on campus, and sustaining student financial aid.

All annual gifts are used in the current year and benefit your own child as well as their classmates. Making an annual gift a wonderful way to show support for your child's education. We welcome gifts of all sizes. Parents, family members, and friends are encouraged to support Annual Giving. Last year, approximately 1,000 parents and grandparents made annual gifts totaling over $600,000 that directly benefited the student experience at Haverford.

To find out more about Annual Giving or to make your gift, please contact annualgiving [at] haverford.edu.

 Parent Leadership Council

The Parent Leadership Council (PLC) is a leadership level volunteer committee of parents and families, both of current students and of alumni, who work closely with the Office of Alumni and Family Engagement and the Philanthropy Team.

Members are active volunteers, advisors, ambassadors, and philanthropic supporters of the College. They also serve as strategic partners with the College in outreach, engagement, solicitation, and stewardship efforts to the parent community and act as a liaison between the two. Council members are asked to:

  • Give an annual gift of $10,000 or more
  • Solicit current parents and families
  • Make welcome calls to families of newly admitted students
  • Host and attend events in their community
  • Write thank you notes to families who make their first gift
  • Attend biannual PLC meetings for an exclusive audience with College leadership
  • Mentor students, offer internships, serve on industry panels, or host informational interviews
  • Consider making a celebratory gift or legacy gift before their student graduates
  • Create a philanthropic example for their student to follow

Membership is by invitation, and members are encouraged to serve a term of at least two years. Upon their student's graduation from the College, members may be invited to remain on the PLC or choose to retire from their duties.
