Haverford Volunteer Day at Philabundance
Details
Students and alumni are invited to join a special Haverford volunteer day at Philabundance's Hunger Relief Center in South Philly on Saturday, November 17th.
Join local members of the Haverford community to give back to those in need in partnership with Haverford House and Philabundance. The volunteer day will take place from 12:30-3:30pm on Saturday, November 17th.
Founded in 1984, Philabundance "seeks to drive hunger out of our communities today and end hunger tomorrow." Over the last three decades the organization has grown to be responsible for "distributing more than 24 million pounds of food a year" to folks in Philadelphia, an effort reliant on volunteers.
Students and alumni who sign up for this event will be volunteering together at the organization's Hunger Relief Center in South Philadelphia where they will help to prepare donated food items for distribution.
Please note that volunteers will be asked to stay for the entirety of the shift. Space is limited. Closed-toed shoes must be worn.
To sign-up, contact Haverford House Fellow TJ von Oehsen '18 (tvonoehsen [at] haverford.edu) by November 2nd.
