The average financial aid grant awarded to Haverford students is $40,014, and more than 50% of students receive some form of financial aid from the College. On National Philanthropy Day (Nov. 12), students were invited to write thank you notes to alumni who have contributed to the Annual Fund this year.

For students looking to forge close connections around shared interests, Haverford offers special interest housing choices, such as La Casa Hispánica (for those attuned to the culture of the Spanish-speaking world); Cadbury House (quiet study, and alcohol and drug-free); and the Ira De A. Reid House (devoted to extending the legacy of Reid, a renowned sociologist and Haverford’s first tenured African American faculty member).

From Doctor to Artist: David Fraser '65

The former president of Swarthmore College and renowned epidemiologist known for leading teams that unraveled Legionnaires’ disease and toxic shock syndrome, Haverford biology major David Fraser '65 has approached his late-in-life art career with the same zeal and curiosity he employed as a scientist and physician.
