"Family Affairs" at James House
Haverford’s three academic Centers shape daily life at the College, by invigorating the arts on campus, supporting cutting-edge research, and inspiring students on issues across the globe.
Whitall Hall, which once stood next to Gest, was built in 1896 and originally housed woodworking and machine shops, a drafting studio, and an “electric lighting engine.” A 1929 renovation replaced the shops with classrooms and professors’ offices.
Come back tomorrow to see Whitall Hall “Now.”
Haverford attracts intellectually curious, independent learners who value honesty, collaboration, and above all, new ways of seeing and improving the world.
As you perform real-world research and immerse yourself in hands-on learning, you'll work side-by-side with professors who are at the top of their fields.
Our mascot—the Black Squirrel—has a genetic adaptation that gives it a bold, black coat. Join our distinctive community and stand out from the pack with your fellow Haverfordians.
