An August 11 Philadelphia Inquirerarticle surveying the work and career of just-named U.S. poet laureate Philip Levine included comments from Visiting Assistant Professor of English Thomas Devaney. Wrote Inquirer reporter John Timpane in the piece:“Philadelphia poet Tom Devaney says he clipped out ‘What Work Is' and ‘taped the poem onto my wall next to my desk.
