REBECCA MORGAN '10 HONORED FOR MURAL IN DELAWARE HOSPITAL
Details
On Friday, Feb. 23, Rebecca Morgan '10 was one of several people honored for her contributions to a mural at the Joint Replacement Center of the Christiana Medical Center in Wilmington, Del.
When Morgan was a student at the Tatnall School in Wilmington, the school's director of alumni relations was a patient at the Joint Replacement Center and wanted to thank the staff for their kindness and assistance. She suggested a mural in her name, and enlisted Morgan to design it. She created four panels depicting people enjoying their new joints: golfing, swimming, playing tennis and dancing. Other Tatnall students went to the Center to complete the actual painting and coloring.
The mural now covers a wall of the Center's exercise room, and has been met with rave reviews.“The patients love it,” says Morgan, who next year will become art editor of the Haverford Review, the student-run journal of literature and art.“The colors are really popping—they brighten up the whole room.”
