HAVERFORD WELCOMES NEW FACULTY AND STAFF MEMBERS

Sebastien Aumaitre, of Paris, France, has joined Haverford as a post-doctoral research associate in the joint department of physics and astronomy. He reports to Jerry Gollub, and is looking forward to spending the next year or two at Haverford assisting Professor Gollub with his research and learning more about his field. Sebastien works in room 007 of the Koshland Integrated Natural Sciences Center's Harris Wing.

Dan Eckrich is the new Information Manager for the Career Development Office on the third floor of Stokes, and will be managing their Web site and their other technology-related needs at both Bryn Mawr and Haverford. He is a graduate of Guilford College, and was drawn to the similarly dedicated community here at Haverford. Between his time at Guilford and arriving at Haverford, Dan has worked at the Delaware Academy of Medicine and at Random House.

Dan is a native of Wilmington, Del., but comes most recently from Rehoboth Beach, also in Delaware. In the past, he has lived in both North and South Carolina, and in New York. While he protests being a "dedicated athlete,” he does enjoy competing in triathlons and is planning on running his first marathon this year. He is also fond of dining out, and welcomes recommendations of good restaurants in the area.

Leslie Wingard comes to Haverford after holding positions at Princeton University and the University of California at Los Angeles. She is now a fellow-in-residence in the religion department and Africana Studies program, with an office in Hall 9. She describes her experience here so far as“wonderful,” and is very impressed by both the caliber of the students and the faculty's welcoming attitude.

Leslie was born and raised in West Chester. She now lives in Princeton, and commutes to campus. In addition to the courses she is teaching, Leslie looks forward to working with the Office of Multicultural Affairs to ensure that“students of color and all others feel as comfortable as they can here.”
