Keith Kaczorowski '03 Performs at Philly Fringe
Details
Foot Locker, a cabaret show and 2008 Philly Fringe event, starring Keith Kaczorowski '03 and Tom Wilson Weinberg, comes to The Willie Way Cabaret, 1315 Spruce Street, on Friday and Saturday, September 12 and 13, performances at 7 and 9 p.m. each night.
Kaczorowski and Weinberg last appeared together in The Keith & Tom Show. Now they return to the cabaret stage with a new show for Philly Fringe.
Keith Kaczorowski '03 was featured in the Philadelphia run of Weinberg's Sixty Years with Bruhs & Gean last fall, playing the title role of Gean Harwood. Kaczorowski also played Gean in the Provincetown, MA tour of Sixty Years last spring. Sixty Years is based on Harwood's autobiography The Oldest Gay Couple in America. Kaczorowski is also a member of the Philadelphia Gay Men's Chorus. He began his performing career at Haverford College, writing and appearing in sketch comedy and musicals.
Tom Wilson Weinberg's albums Gay Name Game and All-American Boy were among the first queer-themed recordings. In addition to Bruhs & Gean, his shows include Ten Percent Revue, Get Used to It, The Teachings of Chairman Rick and Eleanor and Hick. His album Don't Mess with Mary was the official CD of Stonewall 25.
Every composer has a trunk, a foot locker full of gems scrapped at dress rehearsal, novelty numbers that ended up on the cutting room floor, romantic ballads for lovable villains and character songs for characters who went missing.
In Foot Locker, Keith Kaczorowski dives into Tom Wilson Weinberg's trunk and emerges with songs and sketches tossed and shoved, lost and loved. Weinberg at his piano and Kaczorowski at his best, the duo returns to Willie Way for a quirky, tuneful hour of words and music.
Foot Locker is produced by David Perkiss.
