Strength and Conditioning Intern
Haverford College invites applications for our part-time (20 hours per week) Strength and Conditioning internship opportunity.
About the Position
The Strength and Conditioning Intern will be responsible for assisting in the supervision and instruction of strength and conditioning for Haverford Athletics teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and coach the Strength and Conditioning program for at least 1 varsity program on their own, with the potential for additional teams; this includes full autonomy in programming lifts and the potential to lead speed, agility, and conditioning sessions for the team
- Assist in coaching the other teams during lifts, and speed and agility sessions
- Learn how to implement VBT technology (Enode), Jump testing equipment (Just Jump Mat), and fully automated sprint timing (brower)
Line of Report: The Strength and Conditioning Intern reports to the Fitness Center Director, Nicky Miranda.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in progress
- Strength and Conditioning certification (CSCS or CSCCA), or currently in the process of obtaining certification
- First Aid/CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with high school or college athletes in a weight room setting
- Previous experience coaching athletes
- Personal experience lifting themselves
