  • Heidi Jacob My Sister Hali

    Professor Heidi Jacob and her husband, Charles Abramovic, have been recognized for music they wrote for Paul Seriff’s documentary film MY SISTER HALI. In December the documentary was chosen as one of the top 25 documentaries in the UK International Festival, and last month the Latitude Film Awards honored the film with a bronze award in 3 categories: documentary, trailer and music.  In May 2021, Doctors without Borders gave them two awards, including an Exceptional Merit Award for the poetic music by Charles Abramovic, Heidi Jacob, and Jeffrey Solow.

  • Evelyn Cheng

    Evelyn W. Cheng, BMC ’24, received first prize at the Triumph Music Festival (Philadelphia) and will be performing at Kimmel Center in September 2021. Evelyn is a student of Anna Kislitsyna.

  • Fall Chorale Video

    The Haverford-Bryn Mawr College Chorale and Chorale Orchestra performs the final movement of Bach's B minor Mass "Dona Nobis Pacem."

  • On Friday, December 11, the world premiere of TWENTY / TWENTY by Scott Ordway (Rutgers University) was released. This collaborative, covid-era work for choir and digital video was created from the choirs of four colleges (Haverford, Bryn Mawr, Swarthmore, and Hamilton) who acted as authors, videographers, and performers.   • Haverford-Bryn Mawr College Orchestra

    On Friday, November 19, the Haverford-Bryn Mawr Orchestra, conducted by Heidi Jacob, performed a fall concert at Haverford College in Founders Great Hall. The program was:

    Serenade for Strings in C Major, Op. 48 by Pyotr Ilyich Tschaikovsky
         1. Pezzo in forma di Sonatina – Andante non troppo – Allegro moderato – Andante non troppo

    This multi-track recording features the Haverford-Bryn Mawr College Orchestra, conducted by Heidi Jacob, performing the Andante Espressive from Handel's Water Music Suite in Founders Great Hall.

    On Thursday, October 1 at 7 PM, the Department of Music presented Music & Conversation with andPlay Duo featuring Maya Bennardo, violin and Hannah Levinson, viola.  This performance was performed via livestream from Mise-En Place in Brooklyn, NY.

    Assistant Professor of Music Nathan Zullinger and Emeritus Professor of Music Curt Cacioppo along with the Viva Voce Chamber Singers have released Cacioppo’s WOMEN OF ANCIENT GREEK MYTH on a new Albany Records CD (TROY1822).
