The Student Arts Fund
The Student Arts Fund (SAF) helps students explore and deepen their interest in the arts through creative practice, self-directed projects, and event-based collaborations. Funding is granted for a wide range of creative pursuits. The Center encourages students to consider how their proposal will contribute to the public dialogue around the arts at Haverford.
The SAF is overseen by Hurford Center staff and students appointed by Students’ Council to the Hurford Center Advisory Board (HCAB). Students may apply for funding at anytime during the semester. All proposals will be reviewed after each deadline. There is no guarantee that funding will be available by the end of the semester, so students are encouraged to submit proposals as early as possible. A total of $5000 is available each semester for all projects combined.
Priority is given to proposals that are not supported or fully funded through other resources at Haverford or the Tri-Co.

Dialogues on Art
Dialogues on Art are excursions that bring together small, interdisciplinary groups of students, faculty, and staff to visit exhibitions, performances, and screenings in the greater Philadelphia area followed by a conversation over lunch or dinner in the city.
The Center covers the cost of travel, admission or ticket fees, and meals. Any Haverford faculty member, student, or staff member may propose a Dialogues trip.

The Tri-Co Film Festival
Held each May at Bryn Mawr Film Institute, the Tri-Co Film Festival showcases exemplary film and multimedia work by students from Haverford College, Bryn Mawr College, and Swarthmore College. Highlighting the diversity of media production within the Tri-Co, the festival seeks work that demonstrates creativity, craft, and intentionality across a variety of genres and aesthetics.
The festival is supported by the Film and Media Studies Department at Swarthmore College, the Film Studies Program at Bryn Mawr College, the John B. Hurford ’60 Center for the Arts and Humanities at Haverford College, and the Bryn Mawr Film Institute.

HCAH Festival Submission Fund
The Hurford Center offers $1000 annually to offset fees for students and young alumni submitting original work to film film festivals, art exhibitions, and other similar juried events up to one year after graduation. Limited funding may also be available for current students to travel to festivals should the work be accepted and shown.
