Additional Course Info | This course covers the history, methodology, and notable debates in linguistics. Course readings include important primary works on topics throughout the history of linguistics, from early philology, to generative linguistics, to experimental and cognitive approaches. This course is intended for juniors and other advanced linguistics majors in preparation for conducting significant linguistics research, such as a senior thesis. Prerequisite: Any two of LING 001, LING 025, LING 040, LING 045, and LING 050, or permission of the instructor. |
