Additional Course Info | Class Number: 1693 What are communication disorders? What are the characteristics of these disorders? What can different communication disorders tell us about normal speech and language processing? In this course, students will learn about common disorders that affect communication throughout the lifespan, including developmental, acquired, and neurogenic communication disorders in the speech, language, and hearing domains. We will draw on empirical studies and theoretical reviews to examine potential causes and underlying mechanisms of different disorders.; Pre-requisite(s): PSYC100 Foundations of Psychology, PSYC200 Research Methods and Statistics, and one additional 200-level Psychology or any 100-level Linguistics course; Lottery Preference: Senior psychology majors, Junior psychology majors, Senior psychology minors, Junior psychology minors, Linguistics majors and minors, all others by class year.; Enrollment Limit: 12.00 Social Science, B: Analysis of the Social World (; Hav: SO, B) |
