Supported by Haverford College’s Summer DocuLab initiative, five Tri-College students will spend summer 2021 exploring performance-based film practices led by Haverford visual studies faculty member John Muse. Participating in an intensive, seven-day workshop with renowned international performance artist BBB Johannes Deimling and media maker Monika Deimling, the student fellows will employ the research methodologies learned with the Deimlings to conceptualize, develop, and create original works in collaboration with the Muse, DocuLab Production Coordinator Khaula Malik, and an array of mentor artists, dancers, theater makers, and performers. The Lab will conclude with a fall 2021 omnibus performance event and screening of works by the Fellows and critiques with the Deimlings.
