Sexual Offense Awareness, Prevention, & Support (SOAPS)
SOAPS (Sexual Offense, Awareness, Prevention, and Support) SOAPS is a group where sexual assault survivors and concerned community members can come together in a safe space to talk about issues ranging from pro-active efforts to be made on campus, to personal issues related to assaults survivors have suffered. SOAPS is not a therapy group, but rather a support group with it's goals in line with raising awareness on campus of the numerous sexual assaults that do happen each year, as well as helping those afflicted work through their issues. SOAPS understands the seriousness of these issues, and although confidentiality can never be guaranteed, SOAPS values it very highly. This is a group whose mantra is both being supportive of those in need, as well as making the Haverford community more aware of the spectrum of sexual assault that exists. This is a group where all community members are welcome, and the only requirement is being a good listener.
