Founders Great Hall

Founders Great Hall served as the College’s dining hall for more than 60 years, until the Dining Center opened in 1969. Since then, the majestic room has been a busy special events space, hosting invited speakers, student dances, alumni weddings, and concerts.

Jason Sanchez, Callie Kennedy, Sabea Evans, Claire Michel, Sara Ozawa, and TJ von Oehsen are the 2018-19 Haverford House Fellows and will spend next year working at Philadelphia nonprofits and strengthening connections between the College and the city.

Founders Great Hall

With Magill Library under renovation, Founders Great Hall has been put to temporary use (along with a number of other spaces on campus) as a library stand-in, complete with study carrels and the relocated staff of research librarians. Upstairs, the Common Room is now a spot for quiet reading.

The Committee for Environmental Responsibility (CER) was created by the students, faculty, and staff of Haverford College, and reflects our socially responsible principles.

The Haverford Innovations Program (HIP) encourages and supports creative and strategic thinking around a problem, a need, a question, or simply an interest. The goal is to find new solutions and opportunities for entrepreneurial projects and paths of learning.
